08/27/2026 – Outside Walk

Truth be told, I did not mean to end up at Newport Beach Peninsula today
I went to a Goodwill, not a routine drive for me I’d say
My phone has been overheating with the GPS
So, get me home without, determined – yes
I took a few random turns trying to locate a known street
Newport Blvd and I did eventually meet
This is the type of path that has cars back-to-back, merging left and right
Aka., I worked my way to the middle lane and stayed the course in sight
All the way to the end of the Peninsula, I decided to go
Already half-committed, well, why not, you know
I sat on a bench, struggled to sit for too long
You know what that means, time for adult I spy
Mental (or actual) captures, walk, and admire the sky
Two men were fishing off the dock
Lots of gardeners seemed to be on the clock
Lol, I gave them the head nod (or thumbs up) as I passed them by
Love the brief non-verbal connection, can’t deny
They were keeping the landscapes in pristine shape despite the heat
I debated if I could fulfill such duties or if I’d be quick to retreat
Walked down my favorite lane, Youtube idea sparked
Paired with a past written piece, now to remember where I parked
Overall, the spontaneous plan worked well
Provided a few pictures and a mini story to tell
