08/24/26 Outside Walk

I felt my eyes well up with tears as I parked my car in an open space
Wiped them away as they streamed down my face
Took a few deep breaths before getting out, quick to feel the warmth of the sun
A walk outside, my forever idea of fun fun fun
Immediately, the reflections in the water caught my eye
A nice-looking duck passed me by
There was a turtle with his head in the clouds
Ducks sleeping, unbothered by crowds
Took pictures, attention captured left and right
The biggest leaf just resting in plain sight
Giant spider, stopped me in my tracks even though terrified
Envision a better built web, couldn’t if I tried
On my third loop walk, that spider was no longer there
Outside and the idea of a missing spider still gave me the creeps to be fair
Stepped under the bridge to take a look
Sturdy, don’t think I’ve ever felt shook
Sat on the swing and pumped my legs just like I would as a kid
Mission to feel better, help, it did
After three loops, I decided to depart
One last love sign, plant shadow heart
My car was hot as hell
Suddenly understood why a self-driving vehicle might sell
Waited for the steering wheel to cool before going on my way
Felt content with all of the nature sightings, yay
In my rearview, a police car, I did see
Luckily, he was not after me
No sirens to sound
Ventured to Whole Foods, water and a few snacks found
Overall, a solid morning start
Despite the emotional part
