Beach Photo Shoot

08/06/2026 Simply Op goes to play photographer at Newport Beach. 🙂

Mood Match. (comment IF you know what these are)
First, enjoy the view.
Second, go tap-tap feet in the ocean.
This bird stayed for my photo shoot even though I told him that I didn’t bring snacks. 😀
A B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l Day!
Look how the little shell is resting on the big shell (that’s cute).
Simply Op (Newport Beach).
Look what I found. Do you know what this makes me think of?
Inserted this pic as a think pause (lol).
This one too (watched two boys hop into the ocean for a little swim).
Answer: “O” for Opal, lol. (Op)
Spelled. O-P-A-L.
Might have looked cooler IF I had made it the other way. (oops!)
Opal + bird pal. (Also, my tan lines -shorts, socks, tanks- are that bad) #KeepItReal
Look, more ocean friends.
A well-timed capture.
Comment IF you know what these are! Lol, I can’t decide if I like them or not. They kind of creep me out (spider vibes).
Always, to end with a little love sign. xo

[If I could put this day into words … I might say…]

I am not great at sustained sitting at the beach
Despite the ease of proximity, within reach
Putting on sunscreen (full body), not my favorite task
Without it, though, high risk of a lobster red mask
Traffic or parking woes, thought alone to hold me back
Better with an activity, a goal in mind track
Something as simple as buy a new Target swimsuit, photo shoot alone
Find a flower or a shell, capture with thy phone
Today, there was a touch of sadness in my heart
Knowing how much I used to love it here and recognizing that we drifted apart
Between loneliness and my prior job, I was stuck in stress-survival mode
A high turn-over frequent-change environment where I could feel my spirit erode
I didn’t know how (or when) to let go, how to let down
How to put myself (or my family) first (insert frown)
Today, the beach did not make me feel lonely at all
It embraced me with warmth and gave me a bird friend who I named Paul
There were flowers, seashells, fish… beauty at every turn
A chance to be open to healing and forgiveness that deep down… I yearn
I love it (the beach), I do
I love it (the beach), I do
AND it is okay to need to say goodbye for a season
AND it okay to need to say goodbye for a season
I hope the pictures that I took brought you an ounce of joy or a smile
Maybe a little inspiration to simply sit outside and play for a while

With Love,
Simply Op
xoxo
