$3 dollars to enter the park (M-F), $5 (Weekends)“Loop” – YES, PLEASE. (3.2-6mi, depending on what paths you take). Sandy trail. Taking advantage of a tree shade moment. Simply Op. (Sunny & hot) The best viewpoint on the trail (if you ask me). Love a solo bench moment. Who do you hang out with? LOL (just a girl and her shadow, thanks for joining)Are you thinking what I’m thinking? (we should run through the sprinklers!) Mission: find a peacock (check)Found the horses! (I did Google if adults can ride a pony – Google said, “No” … but you can sign up for an $85-dollar trail ride for 1-hour … Opal said, “No”. I found 1 turtle. He wasn’t a fan of getting his picture taken (lol, he gave me the tail). Three best duck friends sitting by the water. I always thought the paddle rentals were a little ridiculous (lol); people do enjoy them, though! Probably one of the best areas in the park. Here comes the train. (I could hear the train sounds while on my hike, :D) Fun fact: that sign up there said “Active bee swarm” (I was like, “Don’t like!”)Kids love the train. (From my observation, you can walk about as fast as it travels, lol)Post hike treat. Don’t be deceived… the girl said, “Let me check if our machine is working (my impression was that she was clueless)” … the “freeze” part I have had before and it looked off to me, so… guess who only hate half of this $7+ treat… me. (Insert disappointment here). Went home to have 3-slices of leftover pizza and a lemonade while hoping that the half I did eat does not make me sick. xo (A keep it real moment)
Today, I opted to revisit Irvine Regional Park. I am not a “regular” at Irvine Regional, but I do love a good park and California has many. My favorite thing to do at Irvine Regional is depicted in the pictures above… hike the nearby trail, find a peacock, visit the “lake”, imagine myself as a park ranger (lol), get the desire to ride a horse (even though I am not a natural), and appreciate the opportunity to be lost outside for a bit.
