07/16/2025 Los Rios Street located in San Juan Capistrano is one of my favorite places. The parking lot requires a fee, but the overflow dirt parking remains 4-hour free (win!). I originally learned about this location after seeking out Hidden House Coffee. I usually get a drink +maybe a treat 😉 and walk down the quaint Los Rios street in search of flowers, butterflies, and external views of the nearby shops. To extend my visit, I sometimes head across the tracks and meander the antique shops. Ellie’s Table has cute palm sandwiches (if you prefer lunch). For some reason, I have always been drawn to train tracks and enjoy standing on the platform to watch for a bit. There has been some revitalization in this area as well; so, if you want more of a modernized vibe you can walk the River Street Marketplace. It is a popular area and can get very busy (cue coffee shop lines). Overall, it is a beautiful and fun place to venture!

With a few exceptions, I have mostly solo ventured here. When I think memories, I recall the time I drove there on the 4th of July to have a BLUEberry muffin (and they were sold out), chatting with a stranger about his dogs (names, longevity, etc.), listening to a college student share about her professional trajectory, and sitting outside with the intent to read/journal (and succeeding at neither).
Thank you, Los Rios Street (and Hidden House Coffee) for being in my rotation of solo venture worthy spots! xo
