The Forget-Me-Not Library is a genuinely wholesome read. The book is full of pearls of wisdom to start each chapter. I connected with the character of Juliet the most. For the entire year of 2024, I was convinced that I needed to move to a small town in order to connect with kind charismatic humans. Anyone who talked with me that year knew I was “struggling to connect” and on track to “move closer to family”. I longed for a family and/or friends to take me in and love me so that I could love them in return. Everyone else would tell me that I longed for a partner, but I hated that, even if there had been truth in it. Anyways, I appreciated the smalltown charm, the well-developed narratives of each character, the wisdom of those who have lived longer, the incorporation of pets (dog Daisy and cat Deckle), the power of time spent together (watching a movie, taking a walk, etc.), the search for purpose and belonging, the reality of life’s confusing decisions, and the healing power of real authentic love. I look forward to reading this author’s other books! ❤
Here are a few pearls that I noted:
“Nothing changes darlin’, if nothing changes.”
“No one ever really grows up. You just get old.”
“Broken hearts are capable of loving again.”
“Sometimes, honey, you’ve got to listen with your heart, not your ears.”
“Honey, sometimes when you’re lost, the path finds you.”
“Darlin’, if they wanted to, they would.”
“Always follow your heart. It knows the way home.”
